Chester S. Barnard
Chester S. Barnard was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Mississippi in 1924 and at Kalamazoo College from 1925 to 1941, compiling a career college football record of 67–59–17.
Coaching career
Barnard was the head football coach for the Kalamazoo Hornets located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He held that position for 17 seasons, from 1925 until 1941.[1] His coaching record at Kalamazoo was 63 wins, 54 losses and 17 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #1 at Kalamazoo in total wins and #6 at the school in winning percentage (.534).[2] He left Kalamazoo in 1942 to join the Navy.
